Went to downtown Mystic to see the 11th annual Mystic Irish Parade (thank you Mystic Irish Parade Foundation Committee). This was the first year I was able to see the parade and it was impressive. The organizers really did a great job at setting everything up. I don’t know how many thousands of people were there but we got there early and we were able to walk down Main Street and see everyone along the sidewalks ready for the show.
We supported Saint Marks Church on Pearl Street and paid $10 in order not to have to walk. They were raising money for a charity and do so for most of the events in Mystic.
After walking the entire parade route on both East Main Street and West Main Street, we settled on the Groton side of the bridge to catch everyone coming across the Bascule Bridge and Mystic River sign in the background.
We were able to see everyone and took a lot of great photos. We waved to Senator Richard Blumenthal as he went by and enjoyed each of the floats. Some great sponsors were Mohegan Sun, US Country 99.5, News Now 94.9, Jammin 107.7, Soft Rock 106.5, The Day, and Olde Mistic Village.
